The site Matador Network writes about Swedish habits to adopt:
Family over work
No matter what you do or where you are, Swedes see your job as secondary to your family life. Have to leave early to go to your daughter’s piano recital? Have fun! Nobody will give you grief about missing a meeting, and it would be unthinkable to interfere with someone’s scheduled parental leave. This can be a bit of a pain when, say, your bank loan officer is gone for a week because their kid is sick and they’re taking VAB (vård av barn, days paid by the government for you to stay home with your sick child), but Swedes are happier and healthier because they don’t spend 80 hours a week at work. This hasn’t interfered with Sweden’s reputation as innovative inventors and producers of pop culture, either: They’ve been responsible for Skype, inflatable bicycle helmets, and pacemakers…as well as zippers, ultrasounds, and thermometers.
WE COMMENT :
BE WARNED! For heaven’s sake do not adopt Swedish daycare fostering of your children! In clear violence with Human Rights, with it’s heavy discrimination of those families which do not accept the socialist combination of extreme bachelor taxes and extremely subsidized public daycare. FAMILY OVER WORK is a horrible misunderstanding. REALITY IS THE OPPOSITE! In Sweden a parent is forced to work even if he or she would prefer to work with the own family.
The result of this State Childcare and fostering clearly shows in weakened relations parent-child, in a high degree of psychological problems, in school disorder and results and more.
Read British researcher Patricia Morgan, who compares the Swedish system with the Soviet Union in her book Family policies, Family Changes. Sweden, Italy and Britain compared (Civitas) and Canadian researchers Gordon Neufeld and Gabor Mate’ in their report ”Hold on to Your Kids”, on the importance for a parent to be great part of their child’s life.
